Walking the Holly Trail in Epping Forest


Wanted to celebrate the new year and mark the start of a (hopefully) successful 2016 with some pictures from one of my favourite quiet places in Greater London — Epping Forest.

Stretching from Buckhurst Hill in the south to Epping, through Loughton and up to the town of Epping in the north, Epping Forest was a favourite hunting ground of Henry VIII and boasts a Tudor hunting lodge near its southern-most point.

I was lucky enough to spend a few windy Boxing Day hours in the forest on its Holly Trail and, as you can probably tell, got slightly muddy to boot…
